Chinese robotics company AgiBot launched Qingtian Rent on December 24, a platform that lets customers hire humanoid robots by the day. The service covers weddings, trade shows, concerts, and corporate events across 50 cities in China.

Pricing runs steep. The flagship Yuanzheng A2 humanoid costs about $1,380 per day. Want something cheaper? The Unitree Go2 robot dog goes for around $138 daily. At the high end, a "sports competition" package with two D1 quadruped robots hits $14,227 per day. All fees include transportation and tech support, according to Yicai Global.

CEO Li Yiyan says the platform has already onboarded 600 service providers and more than 1,000 robots. The 2026 plan: expand to over 200 cities. The company is also chasing a "1234 strategy" that targets 10 equipment manufacturers, 200 rental providers, 3,000 content creators, and 400,000 customers.

The timing isn't accidental. Robot rentals spiked in China after Unitree's H1 humanoids performed at the Spring Festival Gala in late January, dancing alongside human performers in front of over a billion viewers. Rental prices for humanoids briefly surged into the tens of thousands of yuan daily. That hype has since cooled as production scaled up, with mainstream models now renting for $426 to $700 per day.

The Bottom Line: The Chinese robot rental market was worth roughly $140 million in 2025 (company estimate, unverified), with projections of $1.4 billion next year if platforms like Qingtian Rent gain traction.
