ComfyUI teased on X that Seedance 2.0 is headed to the platform. No timeline, no details, just "stay tuned." But the pattern here is obvious.
Seedance 1.5 Pro already runs in ComfyUI through Partner Nodes, the system ComfyUI uses to pipe closed-source models via API calls without any local hardware requirements. Recraft V4 got the same treatment days ago. Seedance 2.0 will almost certainly follow that path, meaning the community debate about whether an RTX 5090 can handle the model is beside the point. This runs in the cloud, billed through ComfyUI credits.
The model itself launched on February 10 through ByteDance's Jimeng platform in China. It generates 2K video with native audio sync, accepts up to 12 reference assets (images, video clips, audio), and handles multi-shot storytelling with character consistency across scenes. ByteDance's official announcement claims improved physics modeling and lip-sync across eight-plus languages, though independent benchmarks remain scarce.
The launch was immediately overshadowed by copyright backlash. Users generated clips of copyrighted characters and celebrity deepfakes within days. Disney sent a cease-and-desist on February 13, and ByteDance responded by disabling real-person generation and suspending a voice-from-photo feature. International access through CapCut's Dreamina platform, originally expected late February, is now uncertain.
For ComfyUI users, the integration means chaining Seedance 2.0 with other nodes for upscaling, face correction, and batch automation. ComfyUI Web confirms it's actively working on the integration, with pricing to follow their standard per-duration credit model. No launch date yet.
Bottom Line
Seedance 2.0 will arrive in ComfyUI as a cloud-based Partner Node using API credits, not as a locally runnable model.
