Reve AI shipped v1.5 of its image model on February 23, upgrading its flagship text-to-image generator to native 4K resolution. The previous version topped out at 2048x2048 natively, with 4K only available through upscaling.
The timing is deliberate. Within hours of launch, Arena.ai confirmed Reve v1.5 landed in the top three on the Image Arena leaderboard, trailing only OpenAI's GPT-Image-1.5 and Google's Nano Banana Pro variants. The model scored 1177 ELO, roughly on par with Grok-Imagine-Image, and placed in the top five for text rendering, art, product photography, and branding categories. Those are company-reported placements via Arena's own post, so take the category breakdowns at face value.
For a 10-person research team competing against trillion-dollar labs, the ranking is notable. Reve's original model (codenamed "Halfmoon") debuted in March 2025 and briefly claimed the #1 spot on the Artificial Analysis Image Arena, before GPT-Image and Nano Banana Pro pushed it down. "We already passed in ranking some amazing models that shaped the field," the company posted on X, "and we are not stopping here." Standard founder energy, but the Arena scores back it up.
One catch: the leaderboard counts Nano Banana Pro variants separately, so whether Reve is "third" or "fourth" depends on how you group Google's entries. Arena.ai lists the overall rank as #4. Reve v1.5 is available now at reve.com, with a free tier and Pro plans at $20/month.
Bottom Line
Reve v1.5 scores 1177 ELO on Image Arena with native 4K output, making it the highest-ranked model from an independent startup on the leaderboard.
