Google announced Wednesday that Gemini now offers full-length SAT practice exams at no cost. The feature, built in partnership with The Princeton Review, launches a separate window when users prompt the chatbot with something like "I want to take a practice SAT test."
The tests mirror the actual digital SAT format, according to Google's blog post, including its two-hour-14-minute duration. Each exam covers both Reading and Writing and Math sections. After completion, Gemini provides feedback on strengths and weak areas, explains incorrect answers, and generates a personalized study plan.
Google emphasizes that the content comes from "rigorously vetted" material provided by The Princeton Review rather than Gemini's own question generation. Whether that actually produces better outcomes than the AI's native capabilities remains untested by independent researchers. The company says additional standardized tests will follow, though it hasn't specified which ones or when.
The Bottom Line: Free SAT prep tools existed before, but embedding them directly into an AI assistant removes friction for the 2+ million students who take the test annually.
