Anthropic pulled in $30 billion in Series G funding on Thursday, more than doubling its valuation to $380 billion from the $183 billion it commanded just five months ago. GIC and Coatue led the round, with D.E. Shaw Ventures, Founders Fund, and MGX co-leading. The investor list runs deep: BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, Qatar Investment Authority, Sequoia, and dozens more piled in. Microsoft and Nvidia's previously announced commitments accounted for a portion of the total.
The announcement came with a financial data dump. Run-rate revenue sits at $14 billion, a figure Anthropic says has grown 10x annually for three consecutive years, though these are company-reported numbers without independent audit. Claude Code alone generates $2.5 billion in annualized revenue and has more than doubled since January. Business subscriptions to the coding tool quadrupled over the same period. A SemiAnalysis estimate pegged Claude Code at 4% of all public GitHub commits worldwide.
The enterprise traction numbers tell the sharper story. Two years ago, a dozen customers were spending over $1 million annually. That count now exceeds 500. Eight of the Fortune 10 use Claude. CFO Krishna Rao called Claude "increasingly critical to how businesses work," which is the standard fundraise-day line, but the revenue trajectory gives it some backing.
At a 27x revenue multiple, the valuation is steep by any measure. But Anthropic is growing into a different category: nearly $64 billion raised since its 2021 founding, per Crunchbase, and a product line that recently triggered a selloff across software stocks as investors priced in disruption risk. The company launched Opus 4.6 earlier this month and shipped over thirty products in January alone, including Cowork, its desktop agent for non-technical users. Claude remains available across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
The Bottom Line: Anthropic's $30 billion raise is the second-largest private tech round on record, and the revenue figures suggest the company is closing the gap with OpenAI on the enterprise side faster than most expected.
